Stopping the Engine
THE FLYWHEEL WILL STILL ROTATE FOR A WHILE AFTER THE ENGINE IS SHUT OFF. SHUT DOWN
THE ENGINE, WAIT FOR ALL MOVING PARTS TO COME TO A COMPLETE STOP, REMOVE SPARK
PLUG WIRES, DISCONNECT THE NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE, THEN WAIT 5 MINUTES BEFORE
MOVING OR WORKING ON THE CHIPPER.
1. Slowly move the Throttle Control Lever all the way to the “IDLE” position and turn the Key Switch to
the “OFF” position.
2. Remove the Key for safety. The Key has a pressure lock that prevents it from vibrating loose during
operation. To remove the Key, push it in and then quickly and firmly pull it out. If the Key becomes
difficult to remove, spray FLUID FILM
®
or a similar non-conductive lubricant into the keyhole.
NEVER STOP THE ENGINE BY MOVING THE CHOKE LEVER TO THE CHOKE POSITION. THIS COULD
CAUSE AN ENGINE BACKFIRE RESULTING IN ENGINE DAMAGE.
NOTE: Close the fuel Shut-Off Valve when transporting or storing the DR RAPID-FEED CHIPPER.
